Online Catalogs and Databases

MORE - My Online REsource

"Working together to serve you better" - MORE (My Online REsource) is a consortium of 34 public libraries across west central Wisconsin sharing resources to provide you with access to more than 1.5 million books, videos, audiobooks, large print books, DVDs and other materials.  Items from any MORE library (click here for a list) can be reserved for pick-up at any other MORE library through the MORE website (www.more.lib.wi.us); you can also check your account for due dates and renew items online, check the What's New lists for the latest titles added to the database, and be notified when your favorite author has a new book out.

WISCAT

WISCAT (www.wiscat.net) is the statewide bibliographic database, with 6.7 million bibliographic records for 1,270 libraries of all types throughout Wisconsin. The libraries listed in WISCAT are willing to loan many of the materials through statewide interlibrary loan channels; if you find an item you would like on WISCAT, the request will need to be handled by your local library.  At the Baldwin Public Library, you can place WISCAT requests in person at the front desk; by calling (715) 684-3813 during normal business hours; or by emailing our Interlibrary Loan department at baldwinill@Ifls.lib.wi.us

BadgerLink

BadgerLink (www.badgerlink.net) is Wisconsin's connection to the world of information, offering free and easy access to magazines, newspapers, video resources, and sites for government, reference, and education.  This information is made possible by the Department of Public Instruction - Division for Libraries, Technology and Community Learning.

HeritageQuest Online

HeritageQuest Online is a popular site for genealogy information, and has been made available free of charge to MORE libraries thanks to state tax dollars' support of library systems.  Through the HeritageQuest website (www.heritagequestonline.com) you can search not only the U.S. Census records from 1790 to 1930, but also a Genealogy and Local History Book Collection, a periodical source index (PERSI), Revolutionary War Era Pension and Bounty-Land Warrant Application files, and Freedman's Bank records specifically founded to serve African-Americans.
